Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today, EFOOFAN exports our tea to Japan both Matcha and other japanese teas like sencha, gyokuro etc.
EFOOFAN matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.

First time buyer to make Matcha-flavor Soylent in Bulk Powder Good Deal Strong Caffeine
This was a learning experience. I’d never bought Matcha powder before. I’ve had Matcha Lattes at Starbucks & Soylent Matcha Flavor Boosters & such. Seemed like a good idea to buy it in bulk to mix my own. So the learning experience? First off this is a product of China. That is clearly stated in description so I won’t rate it down for that. 2nd this is unsweetened matcha powder so very bitter. That should be expected being a green tea so I won’t rate it down for that either. I just never realized Starbucks & Soylent add so much extra sweetener to counter that bitterness. So for this I mixed 2 heaping teaspoons of Matcha to my Original Flavor Soylent drink. It turned REALLY GREEN. I definitely added too much matcha powder. YIKES! Next time I’ll use less, not so much on the heaping. For this strong mix I went proceeded to shake it up to mix it real good & try it out. So bitter! Strong unsweet tea. So I added a pack of artificial sweetener. Still too bitter. Two packs of sweetener? That was good. Not overly sweet like Starbucks Matcha Latte. Good caffeine boost as well. How much caffeine? Reading on that they Estimate 1/2 tsp = 3g matcha = 100mg of caffeine. So 1 tsp = 6g matcha = 200mg of caffeine. So my heaping 2 tsp was maybe 3 tsp so 18g of Matcha that would be around 600mg of caffeine in one serving. Yikes. Be careful. That was too strong. UPDATE: After making many many drinks, I always add in 1tsp of matcha & 1tsp of sweetener to flavor my drink & it is just right. Overall I am VERY Satisfied with this purchase & will consider buying more in the future to flavor my Soylent. I got many many many servings out of this package. Thanks.

I received this prduct from china in 2weeks ago and already made a big glass of matcha tea latte. I love Matcha flavored…everything! This one has strong flavor and very fine&smooth powder. I think i am too greedy and put too much in my tea lol!
Love it! One highlight is that this is from China, where green tea originated, rather than nuclear contamibated Japan! I am a researcher and am very sensitive about numbers. I suggest everyone be cautious about food grown near Fukushima and try to avoid it.

This Matcha is more biter than I’m used to. It also leaves more residue behind in my teacup. Or if I have it iced with a straw, I will get a mouth full of what settles to the bottom. Isn’t horrible of a flavor, but I’ve had better. You get what you pay for.

Pretty good
I mix this with milk, sugar, and mint extract. Vanilla extract is good too. This match is pretty good. It does not takes like dirt. It is bright green. It is clumpier than some other bargain brands but is fine.

Not as green as shown on the packaging, but that was expected considering the price. I use about a teaspoon of this everyday in my oatmeal with honey and it tastes great.
