Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today. EFOOFAN exports our tea to Japan both Matcha and other japanese teas like Sencha, Gyokuro etc.
EFOOFAN matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.

Great powder
This is a good, finely ground matcha powder. I appreciate that it’s organic and the bag makes it easy to store and use a little at a time. This blends easily into smoothies and other drinks. It also worked really well in a cake too!

This product is a generously-sized resealable packet of matcha powder. It mixes up easily into tea, and has a smooth, refreshing taste. I’ve had many different types of matcha over the years. This matcha is good culinary grade. I find that its slightly more bitter than other brands but good taste overall.

I’ve just started using Matcha so I’m no expert but this does taste great. I mix with sugar free almond coconut milk. Ive not noticed more energy but caffeine doesn’t usually affect me. I will buy again

Thought this was Japanese matcha powder from Japan.
I use matcha powder quite frequently. I like to try different brands and prefer organic Japanese matcha powder from Japan. While this may taste decent, the info is a little confusing and a little misleading on the origins of this tea. It seems it is really from China with some fancy here and there certifications from various countries. I like to make iced matcha lattes as well as add 1 teaspoon of matcha to my green smoothies. Matcha provides some caffeine but in a way that doesn’t give you jitters like coffee. It also has lots of antioxidants and a fresh grassy taste. Unfortunately, this matcha powder does not make the cut for what I am looking for.
