Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today. Efoofan exports organic tea to Japan both matcha powder and other japanese teas like Sencha, Gyokuro etc.
Efoofan ceremonial grade matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests which is very suitable for tea growing.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.
Efoofan organic matcha ceremonial grade is grounded as finest tea leaves and contains high content of amino acid and L-Theanine, and low caffeines. It owns vivid green color. The te matcha organic can be brewed with cold and warm water into latte, smoothie, or pure drinks for consumption.

I love this matcha!
I’m a fairly new Macha drinker and I loved this. I switched from Trader Joe’s Matcha. This one tastes less acidic with bold taste. I use half a teaspoon for a cup and makes a very bold taste. Love it!

After trying a few matchas this one wins for me. Its taste and other qualities are comparable to more expensive products and it retains most of its quality after opening.
I would still recommend refrigeration to be sure, and I definitely recommend keeping it as dry as possible, as it clumps easily after accumulating moisture. It mixes easily in warm liquids and does alright in cold water as well, especially when used within a week or so of opening.

I have been looking for a ceremonial grade matcha powder. And there are Japanese products whenever I searched on Amazon. Fresh and naturally sweet
Bearing in mind that this is a Organic Korean Ceremonial Matcha I didn’treally know what to expect .. I was happy to find that when I made it (pictures are of both a hot, thicker matcha and an iced latte) the flavor was fresh, pleasantly grassy and sweet. Wisking, it dissolves easily, producing a long lasting foam. While I’m hardly a matcha expert I do know what I like and a tasty, healthy, organic ceremonial matcha at this price and quality make for an easy 5 star rating.

Most similar to Matcha taste in a Jap Tea Ceremony
This has the closest flavour to the matcha I’ve tasted at a tea ceremony in Kobe. I kept on buying ones that were made in Japan and accidentally one from China (at a quick glance it seemed to be from the US…which isn’t known for tea plantations) and begrudgingly bought this one made in South Korea. Surprisingly this has that bitterness, the correct colour and the frothiness I was looking for without shelling out a much higher amount.

It’s been indeed a delightful experience to smell the fresh grassy and sweet nutty scent of this matcha powder. This matcha tea is light and smooth with creamy texture.
