Not Ceremonial Grade
I am a wine, coffee, and tea connoisseur. Love my green tea and matcha in the afternoon. So when I saw that this “Ceremonial Matcha USDA Organic Premium Matcha Green Tea Powder Single Serves Sticks 100% Pure No Additives by EFOOFAN” I ordered one to try.
What caught my attention? It says Ceremonial Matcha and USDA Organic.
The item came in a green canister. The tea is made in China. The powder contents itself weigh less than a gram, 1 gram to be exact as shown by my precision weigh scale. I added approximately 100 grams of boiled water and whisked.
The powder has a lime green color but is not as vibrant as I expected. The aroma is missing the sweet vanilla punchy green tea odor I am used to. The texture is something to be desired – not silky and there are visible bits left undissolved. The flavor is just like sipping a regular mild green tea – nothing special. Overall the taste profile I would say is good for a culinary grade and not for ceremonial tea.
At the current price of $21.99. The cost would be $1.17 per gram of powder (remember each packet contains only 0.9 grams of powder). This is much pricier compared to real ceremonial-grade matcha from Japan.

i quite like matcha, this was my first time getting a much higher grade. i will say there is a slight overly processed taste to this one. super hard to describe but its not very bitter at all!

Does not seem to be ceremonial grade
I have been drinking matcha for a few months now. Prior to purchasing this one, I was drinking culinary grade which is a lower grade. I heard ceremonial grade was better tasting.
After comparing this matcha to my previous cheaper one, I actually found I enjoyed the cheaper one more.
While this matcha was fresh, it seemed to have a more bitter flavor than the one I used prior.

The matcha is bland and not as green as other ceremonial brands
The matcha is so subtle that it tastes bland to me. Maybe that is just my preference. I prefer another brand. It is very one note.

Quality that is affordable
I stayed away from Matcha for a while because I bought a bag that was absolutely gross ( I couldn’t return it) and I was afraid of wasting money on another one. Recently, I am back on the matcha train because I will not allow myself a second cup of coffee. I am glad I gave this brand a try. The color and smell is right on, and the taste is pleasant. The fact that it’s organic is a huge plus. The only downside is it doesn’t blend as well as I’d like, I have to continue to stir as I’m drinking because some settles at the bottom of the glass.

This powder no help at all total 0 effect I don’t see anything at all after full week taking it twice a day.

I’ve been drinking green tea every morning for years. I was appalled to discover that some brands add rice flour as filler. So I look more carefully at ingredients now. Happy to find organic, ceremonial grade at a reasonable price.

Pretty okay
Overall this matcha is pretty okay, it lacks the depth of flavor I was expecting from a ceremonial grade. Completely underwhelming.

Very grassy, longer to dissolve than other matchas
This is a china-grown matcha, so I expected the quality to reflect the terroir of it’s birth, but even for Chinese tea it was rather grassy and unsubtle. I actually prefer that, especially when used in baking and milk/cream based drinks, but it’s not highly touted in ceremonial beverages. This also took a really long time to dissolve compared to other matchas I’ve had in the past, even when I used an electric whip. I don’t know if the powder was too dry or what the reason could be, as the powder was supremely fine.

I am a matcha lover and have been on the hunt for the best tasting authentic matcha powder. This one has a beautiful green color and is definitely very bold tasting. I like my matcha very strong and as I was whisking it blended easily. It is good but I’m not sure it’s the bet I’ve ever had. I feel like it has a strong after taste but not a very strong matcha flavor if that makes sense. I’m gonna keep using it to see if my opinion changes.
