    Great

I really like this Matcha. It tastes great, is a vibrant green color, and blends very well. It’s great hot or cold. I can’t wait for my boba to come and make a blended green tea with boba.

    flavor

had purchased a different brand that was sweetened, just curious, but the sweet was so overpowering that there was no tea flavor. after using your brand it was so much more tastier with a better color. the aroma was not as strong as some teas but the overall taste was there.

    Good but

Like this product but it doesn’t dissolve 100%. Always have about 1/4 inch of mud in the bottom of the cup

  4. Nick S. (verified owner)

    Not very strong

The flavor of the matcha wasn’t as strong as I had hoped. But the packaging was nice and secure. If you like a light matcha powder this is for you

Good value for baking. Smoothies Ok, Drinking alone, not for me.

Purchased this at the beginning of my Matcha craze. Still using Matcha but better brands. Great price for Organic per oz. Seems like a lower quality Culinary matcha. After tasting I decided to use it in smoothies only. I haven’t tired baking with Martcha. For drinking & lattes I buy higher qualities.
    My experience:
    1) Color is a darker muddy green – The brighter clearer greens taste better etc.
    2) Taste is bitter & needs sweetener, cream etc. to make it palatable
    3) Caffeine – not sure but seems about the same as other culinary brands
    4) Efoofan brand for the $. Better than coffee for me.
    5) Tried Chinese & Japanese brands in Culinary quality. Much prefer the Japanese ones I found for quality, & taste They are usually more expensive.
All comes down to how much you want to spend & how you are going to use it. If you are cooking with it this is fine. Smoothies just ok. Making a cup of tea, not for me but we all have different tastes

    Good stuff!

Working as a paramedic in California with the wave over 100 degrees, this stuff hits the spot when I put it in my thermos filled with water and ice. Disolves easily in just a few shake’s. I will order again.

It’s fine for culinary grade matcha

Have you ever had that bright green matcha that isn’t bitter? That is ceremonial grade matcha. It’s much better than this. Culinary grade matcha is brownish, and far more bitter. This is decent culinary grade matcha, because it’s at least a little green. Really bad matcha is brown and plain disgusting. If you want to use this, use a little bit. It’s far too bitter to be the primary flavor in anything, unless you add a pound of sugar. That means it’s good in cake. Ceremonial grade matcha is a giant waste to put in a cake, but this is fine.

So, if you want to add a little bit into something, or add it to something sweet, this is fine. If you want to drink it as the primary ingredient, go find something better. Well, unless you like things really bitter.

Great value, only good for baking

The powder is super dull green and has very little matcha flavor. You’re supposed to only use a small amount in drinks but I felt like I needed to use a scoop if I wanted tea. It’s a great deal if you like baking with it, but on its own in teas / lattes it’s not good.

Its tastes more like kale than kale does

I love matcha and thought I was gettind a deal here, organic. But even putting this is smoothies LOADED woth fruit there is an extremely strong bitter flavor that lingers in the mouth. It’s barely tolerated in a smoothie but would properly be like ‘instant coffee’ offensive in a latte.

    Dark Matcha

It’s a little darker than I expected. The flavor is kind of average.

Definitely some pros and cons. But, for the price, overall good.

    Pros:
    – So much matcha for such an affordable price
    – Organic
    – Decent for sweet matcha lattes, hot or cold 🙂

    And now, the Cons:
So, to start off, there are three matchas of different quality that I use:
    – This matcha for lattes (culinary grade)
    – Ito-en Matcha Love matcha (ceremonial grade)
    – Ippodo Sayaka-no-Mukashi matcha (very high ceremonial grade)

I totally understand this matcha is not aiming to be as high quality as the other 2 listed matchas; it’s going more for affordability. But it’s worth noting what you’d be missing to make sure you’re fine with that.
    – This matcha errs a lot on the bitter grassy side, even when you attempt to mask it with milk and sugar. Can be unpleasant, especially if you add to much matcha into your drink. Even when the right levels of matcha, milk, and sugar are added, the flavor tends to be pretty bland. When the bitter grassy flavors are toned down by the other latte ingredients, there is no other flavor left.
    – I’ve found that this matcha isn’t ground as finely as one would might like. You can get a gritty texture in your lattes at times.

I began to realize those cons after ordering the product a second time. If it weren’t for the texture, I’d probably buy this matcha again for the third time, but unfortunately the grittiness has gotten to me. It was definitely worth a try though! Who knows, you may be less pickier than me. 😉
