Longjing tea, sometimes called by its literal translated name Dragon Well tea, is a variety of pan-fried green tea from Hangzhou city, Zhejiang province, China. Longjing loose leaf tea is produced mostly by hand according to traditional making process. Therefore, the long jing green tea has renowned for its high quality and earned the title of Top ten famous teas in China. Dragon well green tea was granted the status of Gong Cha, or Imperial tea, in Qing Dynasty by Chinese emperor Qianlong.
Linan is one district of Hangzhou and located in a rainy area between 29°-31° north latitude, with an annual precipitation of 1500mm, and an annual average temperature of 15.3°C. This zonal monsoon climate has the characteristics of “Synchronized rain and heat” in spring and summer, “complementary temperature and light” in autumn and winter which are very conducive to the growth of tea trees.

Direction:
1. Warm Cup – Warm the cup with hot water. Pour hot water with 167-185 degree Fahrenheit into 1/3 of cup.
2. Moisten Tea – Drop 2-3g tea into cup, lift and swing cup to moisten tea. Smell it.
3. Infusion – Pour the hot water upto 7/10 – 8/10 of cup.

Quality Dragon Well
This Is a high quality organic, first flush, dragon well tea. The leaves are whole and slightly toasted. Can easily get 4 to 5 infusions, possibly more. Tastes really lovely with a bit of honey or whatever your preferred sweetener is. What’s really nice about this tea if you brew it right if it’s not very tannic. Most teas I can’t drink in the morning because it upsets my stomach but this is lovely in the morning. No issues with it.
I prefer to brew at the higher temperature end at 195° which gives a stronger flavor and a darker color. Attached photo is a fourth infusion brewed at 195° for two minutes.

That is good!
Being an avid tea and coffee drinker I was excited to get a chance to try this green tea.
+ The steeping instructions are 1-2 minutes…I did 3 minutes and it came out with plenty of flavor.
I also used 2 tsp per 8oz.
+ After making a 6cup pot of this, I made a similar 6 cup pot of my previous green tea that is a lot more affordable.
The flavor here was A LOT better and smoother.
— My only disappointment is they got me excited by providing a clip, but the clip is so small you cannot clip this bag. It’s about 1/2 inch too short.
OVERALL:
It is a premium tea.
Well worth the price if you want to up your green tea enjoyment or keep it for serving to guests.

Great tea with a fair price
This is the third time I ordered the Long Jing (dragon well) tea from them, the taste and quality is much better than I expected, and better than any tea I got from elsewhere without living in the country where the tea is originated. Nice and delicate green tea
This is my first time trying dragon well tea and it doesn’t disappoint me. The tea leaves were high quality and looked fresh and it was sealed nicely and had a nice smell as soon as you cut open the bag.
The tea comes in a nice and sturdy box, which is perfect for storing the tea or for giving as a gift. There is also a bonus clip to allow you to seal it tight to maintain the freshness of the leaves.
I was able to steep the leaves a few times. This was nice, as it meant that I could enjoy the tea for a longer period of time. However, I do feel that the price is a bit on the high end but I think the quality of the tea makes up for the price.

Superb Dragon Well green tea that’s flavorful, slightly sweet and citrusy, and it can be re-infused
This is a premium Dragon Well green tea that’s flavorful, slightly sweet and with hardly any bitterness. Most green teas have a vegetal flavor: a taste that reminds me a little of asparagus. Sencha green teas are like that. They also tend a bit towards astringency: featuring a slightly bitter aftertaste that requires that you prepare the tea carefully, using freshly boiled water that’s been allowed to cool to around 170-180 degrees. The usual steeping time is described as 2-3 minutes. That strikes me as too short a time for the kind of tea that I prefer (stronger and with more flavor), so I’ve learned to adapt to some bitterness in my tea.
However, as an experiment I steeped this Dragon Well tea for more than an hour and there was barely a hint of bitterness. It tasted slightly sweet with a delicate vegetal flavor and even some citrus notes. In other words, it tasted like a premium tea should taste. Yes, it’s a bit pricey but you will get what you pay for: a delicious green tea. It can even be infused twice, which should lessen the price burden a bit. I really like this Dragon Well green tea. It’s one of the best that I’ve sampled.

Real green tea
Hangzhou Longjin tea has different grades (in China), this tea is probably graded low (in Chinese standards). However, I was amazed that I can even find this tea online. I bought one just to see if it is the real dragon well green tea. To my surprise, the taste, the aroma, the color is just as good as those I tried in China…Very happy with the buy.
