Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today. Efoofan exports organic tea to Japan both matcha powder and other japanese teas like Sencha, Gyokuro etc.
Efoofan ceremonial grade matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests which is very suitable for tea growing.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.

I can’t speak to the health part of this because it’s just to hard to tell since I take a lot of health maintenance supplements. I can say that this has a very good matcha flavor. I have a tiny glass jar of ceremonial grade matcha that was a silly high price and these taste better. I like the pre-measured portion and it was just right for a coffee cup of matcha. I mixed it into hot water with an electric frother because I wanted to get an unobstructed taste of the powder. It’s very good. Incredibly smooth, low bitterness. It’s a bright green that you typically see with higher grade matcha, instead of the slightly brown color of the less expensive grades. I felt a steady sustained energy and no crash as you would expect from good matcha. I would definitely recommend.

I use this for tea every mornings. Appears like a small amount at first, but you don’t need a lot to make one cup. Like most matcha, it needs to be stirred very well or it will settle at the bottom. Tastes good and the price is fair.

I enjoyed everything about this Matcha. It might be one of best kept secrets around. The color is bright yet deep and has a green taste but not grassy! I do not enjoy Matcha that taste like grass.
