Well packaged, fresh – some trial and error getting the desired taste

This is my first time ordering Matcha tea. I’ve had it once before at a restaurant. I made it as per the instructions, but was generous with the measurements and didn’t really like it. Adjusted the measurement and it was a nice mild taste. It’s nice for a change, but the high price tag would stop me from being a regular consumer. The tin seals well and I prefer it to the bagged type I’ve seen.

Average matcha powder, expensive for what you get.

I have tried several different matcha powders before and this one was rather disappointing. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to see that it is from China and not Japan. Nowhere on the product listing does it say it is from China, I usually get Japan-origin matcha. The matcha itself is a dull green colour, not as vibrant as higher grade ceremonial matchas I have tried, the colour stays a dull green after adding water. Tastewise, it’s much milder than normal ceremonial matcha, I think its closer to premium grade. Not much to the flavour profile, kinda like a stronger Lipton green tea bag. It didn’t dissolve as nicely either, I noticed more clumps with this one. This matcha is average but overpriced for the quality.

    It’s good matcha

I like it. I use it. It’s cute.

The taste is pretty good I don’t get any grass flavor. I notice my energy level is increased and I don’t get a crash fortunately. It’s a good price to for the amount you get and I like the quality. And it’s not like a dark swampy green with I like a lot.

  4. CHICHI M (proprietario verificato)

    Not bitter like most

I like the flavor of this matcha. It is not as bitter as most that I have tried. I find the texture is perfect. I just wish the pouch was a little bigger.

  5. Maricela Perales (proprietario verificato)

As good as expensive ceremonial matcha

I drink matcha with plain hot water. First I tried an organic premium ceremonial Japanese matcha, which is a lot more expensive. Then I tried this one. Couldn’t tell which one was better. Now I get a lot more for a lot less. I’m staying with this one.

  6. A. Parker (proprietario verificato)

    One of the best matcha

I love this matcha not only for its price but also for the quality of matcha that it is, price and quantity super recommended

  7. Jimothy Nightingale (proprietario verificato)

    Good Price for the amount

Not sure how many serving, a big pouch…but I guess we will see…the ingredients are great..the taste is pretty evident that it truly is what it says it is. I’m not a huge macha drinker, but want to begin for it’s healthy benefits and especially the anti-inflammatory properties

I think it will be more tasty if had sweetness but I guess that would defeat purpose

Looseeva point for not indicating it’s from China, I was under impression it was from japan…however it’s is Certified organic

    Medium-quality matcha from China

    Pros:
    – Reasonable amount of matcha for the price
    – Probably not bad in baking!

    Cons:
    – “Premium grade” is pushing things. The colouration of the powder is too pale, the tea is too pale and bitter for this to be considered ceremonial. See the image for a comparison between a typical ceremonial matcha (left, in blue mug) and this product (right, in white mug)

    For the Matcha Tea Lovers

This Premium Grade Matcha Green Tea Powder offers a rich, vibrant flavor with smooth texture. It’s made from high-quality, first-harvest leaves, USDA organic, and contains no additives. The color is bright green, indicating freshness, and it mixes well into drinks. It’s perfect for matcha lovers who want an authentic, clean experience.
I love the taste, it’s great for lattes, smoothies, or traditional tea ceremonies. This matcha Tea provides a moderate caffeine boost, it also contains L-theanine that promotes relaxation and helps balance the stimulating effects of caffeine providing a calm energy compared to coffee.

Excellent matcha for a great price!

This delicious matcha is perfect for my daily iced matcha lattes. I was previously using Jade Leaf unsweetened matcha, which I really enjoyed but I go through it fast and it’s pretty pricy.

Both are organic, culinary grade. Both very finely milled powders that dissolve easily in hot-ish water.

Don’t let the size of the packages in my photo fool you. This matcha contains 2 1/2 times more matcha – AND is less expensive! 100g for Jade Leaf vs. 255g in this matcha.

I will absolutely buy this again to support my matcha habit!

  11. Tiffany Kee (proprietario verificato)

Good but the bag label was dirty

I like this matcha, seems to be very good quality and tasted but the bag label it came in was dirty in multiple spots.

  12. Maria Cordova (proprietario verificato)

    Tastes inferior – like seaweed

Maybe its the fact that its a culinary level compared with a ceremonial level grade but this is just trash. I read reviews saying to use culinary level for making latte’s since the better taste is less important but this is more than just a little bit less good. It’s bad. And I am not the only person who thinks it tastes like seawood. It looks like yellow green compared with bright green. And now I am up to 3 other blind taste testers who have all commented that it tastes like seaweed (or sushi wrappers which are seaweed). So I am saying buyer beware.

  13. Flordeliza Lacurom (proprietario verificato)

    Not bad Premium grade matcha

This is not a bad matcha for making traditional matcha during the ceremony but from what I have in the past this is not one of the greatest either.

  14. Steve Jackson (proprietario verificato)

    Good Green Tea Powder

Brand new, arrived in a sealed container.

Good quality green tea powder (255g)

    Smell fresh and tasted good.

  15. Cathy Tran (proprietario verificato)

Nice matcha – strong flavour out of the bag and in the finished tea

This matcha powder has a good aroma to it from the bag. It is a fine powder consistency that expect from being ceremonial grade. Drinking it, the matcha flavour does come through and it is not gritty, again coming from being ceremonial grade.

  16. Amber Younger (proprietario verificato)

Decent option for a smooth matcha, average price for ceremonial grade matcha

I’ve been fairly happy with this matcha green tea powder. It comes in a metal tin with a gasket to keep it air tight between uses. This is a finely ground matcha that has a nice smooth taste to it. I had no issues clumping when mixed. I’ve been using this with my matcha lattes in the morning and you get a nice mild taste with it. When you factor in the price, this is in line with other ceremonial grade matcha powders that you can get on the market. Overall a decent option for the price!

  17. Leslie Anderson (proprietario verificato)

    Average taste and too bitter

I tried several matcha powders over the years. This one isn’t great. It has a rather bitter taste. Definitely not as vibrant or fruity as some other blended matcha.
I find it expensive for $20. There are equally good matcha’s out there for less. Not a high end product in my opinion.

  18. Sofia Cerda (proprietario verificato)

    Different tasting matcha

I wanted Efoofan Matcha Green Tea Powder because I’m almost out of matcha and like trying new brands. One plus of this matcha is the container it comes in has a twist on lid which probably keeps the matcha fresher than a lid that just sits lightly on top. The first thing I noticed when opening the matcha is that it is a very dark green and not very vibrant like one would expect from a ceremonial grade matcha. Dark green is typically a good indicator of a low quality matcha so I expected some bitterness. After researching more I noticed this matcha is grown in China which has different matcha growing practices than Japan which typically result in a lower quality, darker, and different tasting matcha. I brewed the tea at 180F after sifting and whisked with a chasen. The resulting matcha was also dark green with some bitterness that I needed to counteract with a little sweetener. The matcha also has more of a seaweed taste than what I am used to with Japanese matcha.
