Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today. Efoofan exports organic tea to Japan both matcha powder and other japanese teas like Sencha, Gyokuro etc.
Efoofan ceremonial grade matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests which is very suitable for tea growing.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.
Efoofan organic matcha ceremonial grade is grounded as finest tea leaves and contains high content of amino acid and L-Theanine, and low caffeines. It owns vivid green color. The te matcha organic can be brewed with cold and warm water into latte, smoothie, or pure drinks for consumption.

Tasted like mud/dirt. Wasn’t smooth no matter how much I would whisk it. Tried it twice with a total of 2 tsp used from the bag before I threw it away.

Hard to open, a bit more bitter than my normal matcha
There are ten packs in the box and so far I’ve had three of these. These packets were really difficult to open. So far I’ve only managed to open one of the three packets without a pair of scissors. So even though they are individually packaged, not really something you can take on the go.
I wasn’t sure what to expect at first since this also contains Fish Collagen. After trying it though I don’t taste any of the collagen though so this is an easy way to get my daily collagen. The matcha is a tad more bitter than other ceremonial grade matcha powder I’ve had. Usually I can taste the bitterness in some of my matcha’s before I mix it in with milk. With this matcha, I can taste the bitterness come through though it isn’t unpleasant enough that I have to add any sweetener to mask it. It dissolves fairly well and when I whisk it, it gets as frothy as my other matcha.

What an amazing value
I gave up coffee years ago in favor of matcha. But to drink that much requires either cheap chinese tea or otherwise low quality tea that you have to sweeten up to be palatable. This tea is a great middle ground for daily matcha drinkers.
My girlfriend introduced me to Korean Matcha thru Jeju Island Matcha tea. While the price was good she had to have her parents ship it to her from Korea which wasn’t very practical. So finding this tea was a life saver. Now I get my daily match for a reasonable price. Still tastes great, good aroma, and great value. I’ll be buying again!!!

The matcha is good. Not the best I’ve had, but I’ve certainly had worse, completely undrinkable matcha I wouldn’t even use for culinary purposes. It dissolved OK, good taste. I like the slide open box it comes in, although I found the individual packets difficult to open. So I think the convenience of the packets is lost a little.

I am fairly new to Matcha, but after trying three different organic ceremonial matcha brands –the other two much more expensive and highly rated– my favorite is SEEIN. It has the best flavor of the three. Plus, it is from Korea, not affected by the Fukushima radiation accident. I will continue to purchase this brand. It is reasonably priced and excellent quality.
