Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today. Efoofan exports organic tea to Japan both matcha powder and other japanese teas like Sencha, Gyokuro etc.
Efoofan ceremonial grade matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests which is very suitable for tea growing.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.

Excellent Green Tea Matcha! Good grade Green Tea Matcha is loaded with L-Theanine, an amino acid that helps the brain to produce more Alpha waves, giving you a dual “alert, but calm” state of mind in addition to its other phyto-chemicals and their huge benefits.

I didn’t need ceremonial fancy expensive matcha. I just wanted something that would provide a matcha flavour for my smoothies and stuff. This does the job! The taste is nice. Just be mindful of how much you use otherwise it tastes really grassy. (But that’s true with ceremonial matcha as well) great value for price. Flavour is nice. I like adding it to my protein shakes for a matcha flavour. I also will add it to milk and making a cold foam to top off smoothies. Very yummy.

Be cautious when opening
Each packet has a small amount of air when filled with matcha. As soon as you begin to cut or open end of packet a small burst of air escapes along with some powder.
I make sure I open it over the cup of pot so that no amount of powder is waisted.

Smooth! The flavor of this tea is so smooth, this is what green tea is supposed to be like, not overwhelming in green tea flavor, No aftertaste, no bitterness! I could hardly wait when I wake to get to the kitchen to make it!

This is perfect for those who are always on the go and need a mid-day kick. There is 10 packs of matcha which roughly translates to 10 cups you can make. Each of the packs are put in easy tear packaging (similar to korean instant coffee or crystal light packages). They come housed in a box that is super compact and perfect for your desk or backpack.
The matcha flavor is bold and bitter and flavorful. The matcha is advertised as having the additional fish collagen, although it didn’t make the taste any different than my usual matcha. If you want to add a kick just pour some honey or a little bit of rock sugar to sweeten it up. Top this matcha off with a little bit of milk if you want to create a latte. Instead of a Matcha chasen I used a coffee frother and was able to get a good mix in.

Great Matcha
This is a great matcha, though I don’t have many other bases to judge on. It works alone, with cream and sugar, and in recipes. Not sure how this compares with other ceremonial grade matchas, but in a vacuum, it works for me. Cost is one of the best in the cermonial tea category, but, again, I’m no judge of if this qualifies or not, officially.

Very good for the price
This is the best tasting matcha for the price that I have found, not as good tasting as Okmidori matcha from japan (that is £20 for 25grams though) Dissolves well , froths up very nicely when whisked, and has a good balanced energetic effect.

FYI, it’s Korean matcha, not Japanese
Good for the price, and maybe it is ceremonial grade, but to be clear, this is Korean Ceremonial Matcha, not Japanese. I didn’t realize until I received the item itself. So far, no complaints about the taste, but it doesn’t taste that much better than other, Japanese culinary grade matcha that I’ve tried.
