Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today, EFOOFAN exports our tea to Japan both Matcha and other japanese teas like sencha, gyokuro etc.
EFOOFAN matcha green tea is organically farmed at the foot of the Tianmu Mountain where is located in an undeveloped natural valley, about 600m above sea level and widely distributes nearly 200 acres tea plantation.
Tian Mu Mountain, a national nature reserve, UNESCO man and biosphere reserve (MAB), it always is year-round fog, humid climate and lush forests.
Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.

Chalky, Doesn’t Mix Well
Ordered because it was so much cheaper then the Maeda En brand I usually buy to make matcha lemonade, but it doesn’t dissolve nearly as well. I use cold tap water and a blender bottle shaker, and the result ends up chalky 🙁

Perfect matcha for my matcha latte
I was a little skeptical about this because the reviews were mixed. But I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality for the price. Usually matcha powder is super pricey due to the recent high demand plus it being imported etc. I’m not a matcha connoisseur by any mean; I just needed my matcha latte to be less sugary, accessible and affordable. This definitely serves the purpose perfectly. I will keep exploring with this for my baking in near future as well.

Love this matcha. It’s a great size for the price. I use for making a green tea latte and it tastes similar to Starbucks. Although I think Starbucks, matcha is already sweetened. I gave -⭐️ because my item was delivered with a hole in the bag. Matcha spilled inside deliver box. Amazon refunded with no problems. My 2nd order was perfect.

Defintely NOT for tea
This would be good for cooking but not for teas or smoothies. Very bitter flavor even with sweetener. I had to throw most of it out. I just couldn’t do it. Great price if you want to add matcha flavor to a food dish or baking.

Shipping was quick and on time. The package was secure and no concern of loose or broken items (I had 3 items come in the same box). I bought this to make some cookies for a friend. I also however love a good matcha latte. It was a win-win for me. It provides a nice bright and earthy taste. I would say a little goes a long way but it also depends on how strong you like the flavor and want it to show.
