Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today. EFOOFAN exports our tea to Japan both Matcha and other japanese teas like Sencha, Gyokuro etc.

Tea production in Linan has a history of more than 1,200 years. Tea has been recorded as early as the Dongjin Dynasty, and it was great reputed in the Tang Dynasty. The tea saint Lu Yu compiled Tianmu tea into the “Tea Classic”.

The quality of the matcha is low. It has low aroma and is a very dull brown color. (See photo comparing quality matcha [bright green] vs this [brown]). This is what happens to matcha if it oxidizes. For the price if you’re going to throw it in a latte it’s probably still ok. But I’m not going to buy again.

Great Matcha! I’ve gotten this four times now, and every time it’s been a deep green color. I have it as a warm matcha latte each morning, and I enjoy the flavor and the energy from it as well. It’s hard to beat for the price!

I’ll start this review by stating that I was talked into trying Matcha by a friend of mine. Little did I realize that drinking Matcha tea was like joining a cult or cross-fit. If you’re doing it correctly you’ll need some additional Matcha tools to make your cup of tea and yes it is a ritual. To me it tastes like grass and yes I do enjoy green tea. I’ve tried it a few ways to include iced with almond milk. I have successfully gotten it to a point where I can drink it without cussing out the can. There is a lot of Matcha tea in this bag so if you don’t like it or aren’t sure, move on this is not your level of commitment. I now have guest Matcha tea until, well the year 2055.

Great Matcha
This matcha is really good, and it dissolves well without needing any special tools. I have had better matcha, but for something off of online site while I can’t go to a local shop, this is a great alternative. I will say it gets messy with the way the opening is on the inside. Overall great matcha!

Taste is decent and price is really good, but I didn’t realize it was made in China. I prefer to buy matcha made in Japan. Because of that I wouldn’t buy this again, but if you’re on a budget it’s not bad.

Good but pricey
I bought this try to save money bec I was buying matcha teas from Starbucks daily. This is a good quality match. Great color and taste. My only complaint is the price for the size.
