Matcha originated in China, dating back to the Song Dynasty and its birthplace is Linan of Hangzhou. Hangzhou is also the distribution center of Japanese tea today, EFOOFAN exports our tea to Japan both Matcha and other japanese teas like sencha, gyokuro etc.

i am definitely not a matcha connoisseur, so i’m not picky. it’s a little powdery but doesn’t bother me. overall, the quantity for the price is what sold me. it tastes great and is bright green just like matcha should be, and i will definitely be buying again!

Was real easy to make and bought a traditional mixer to have it at its best quality. The green is such a pretty color. It tastes wonderful as a nice hot tea during cold times.
My niece thought it was a sweet kind, but it is for normal tea. The quality reminds me of traditional packages, what I expected for organic macha.

I use this matcha powder to make a copycat Starbucks green tea. I use one tablespoon of the matcha, 16 oz of milk or milk alternative, simple syrup to taste, over ice, and it is the same beverage for a lot less money.

A bit too bitter
I am a Matcha enthusiast, but I am not certain if I have the correct type. When I used it, the color became very dark, and the vibrant green that I am accustomed to seeing was nowhere to be found. Additionally, it had a bitter taste.

you get a LOT of matcha in the bag. And most recipes only call for tablespoons at a time so you can get a lot of milage from it. Its nice quality, could be better but for the price it’s pretty good. Very bright green and fragrant when you first open it, which is great.
also, this is CULINARY grade matcha. it is NOT for drinking. culinary grade is of “lower” quality than ceremonial grade matcha, which is what is used in drinks. so it has a grasser flavor profile and not as sweet as other matchas, but that’s how it should be for culinary grade matcha

Overall, this has proven a great value over other brands of “culinary” or “ceremonial” matcha. However, one should be careful with how much and how well it is mixed, particularly as a beverage. I made a 16oz latte using a slightly heaping teaspoon of the stuff. Within an hour, I was the star of my own private Exorcist movie, growling and projectile vomiting green puke all over the place. My subsequent lattes have seen a significant reduction in powder content with no further incidents like that described above. Where one small pouch of Jade Leaf might last my wife and I a week, this big ol’ bag has lasted us months and there’s still plenty left. The quality isn’t quite as good as JL, but for the price (green, Linda Blair/Regan style gastronomic events notwithstanding) you can’t beat it.

As a CULINARY matcha, this product is top notch.
Do keep in mind that this is not “ceremonial matcha”, a much costlier matcha; it is a culinary product that can be added to food or drunk for health benefit, but it is not primarily a beverage matcha.
